Our vision is to be the best import and export company in Southern Africa, offering a complete hands-on facility, and ensuring that our products are grown, picked and packed in perfect condition. FVC International is headed by Jaco van Tubbergh and a team who between them have extensive experience and relations in the fruit industry.
Location, Location, Location
Based in Cape Town, South Africa, we are a mere 15 minutes from the city’s main port. We have a large infrastructure with cold storage facilities, and our fruit terminal stocks 1 200 pallets with further plans for expansion.
We also own a large pack house in the Gouda district of the Western Cape, which is a mere 30 minutes from the town of Ceres. It is here where a large quantity of South Africa’s world-famous fruit is produced.
Gouda Fruit Packers is a modern facility with a packing capacity in excess of 400 tons per day.
Looking towards foreign shores
Our main markets for export are Russia, Spain, Italy, France, Africa and the Middle East. We export grapes, citrus, apples, pears, stone fruit, onions and butternuts, all according to seasonal availability.
FVC International is also the largest fresh produce importer in South Africa. Our main countries of supply are Spain, Egypt, Israel, China and Italy. In addition, we are also the officially appointed importers of Zespri kiwi fruit from New Zealand.
Further, we have established a long term partnership with the largest fresh produce retailer in the country, giving us a competitive advantage in terms of distribution.
How would you like it wrapped?
We offer customized packaging solutions to meet the needs of our customers. Packing is done by our growers, who are all HACCAP and EUREPGAP approved, as well as PPECB certified.
Farmers are our friends
Over the years we have established strong relations with farmers who have vast knowledge and experience in growing, harvesting, storing and packaging fresh produce for exporting. Our buyers oversee operations at the pack houses, closely monitoring that the fruit is packed according to specifications, and cooled at the correct temperature.
We’ll handle the logistics
FVC International also has its own logistics company in partnership with two of South Africa’s largest fruit growers, which ensures that orders reach their destination in the shortest possible time, in perfect condition.
